Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide, sometimes called happy gas, may be used with oxygen to help manage anxiety during selected dental procedures. Ask Sydney CBD Dentistry whether it is available and appropriate for your circumstances.
Assessment and risks
Your dentist needs to review your health, medicines and previous reactions before recommending sedation. It is not suitable for everyone and does not replace all forms of local pain control. Side effects can include nausea, dizziness, headache and vomiting.
Preparing and recovering
Follow the clinician’s instructions about preparation, recovery, transport and returning to normal activities. Do not assume that you can drive or leave immediately after treatment. Ask about alternatives, monitoring, fees and any additional care before deciding.
